1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash).
Job search preferences: Job titles, locations, salary expectations, and other preferences you provide.
Application data: Job listings you save, apply to, or dismiss, along with notes and contacts you add.
Email data: If you connect Gmail, we access email metadata (sender, subject, snippet) to identify job-related signals. We do not store full email bodies.
Payment information: Billing is handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID but never your card number or full payment details.
Usage data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) provide and improve the Service; (b) send transactional emails such as account verification and password resets; (c) process subscription payments; (d) respond to support requests; (e) detect and prevent fraud or abuse. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Sharing
We share your data only with: (a) Stripe — to process payments; (b) Resend — to send transactional emails; (c) Google — when you connect Gmail; (d) RapidAPI / JSearch — to fetch job listings. We do not share your data with advertisers.
4. Gmail Data
ApplyHound's use of Gmail data is limited to scanning for job-related signals (interview requests, offer letters, rejections). We access only email metadata needed to identify these signals. We do not share Gmail data with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the Service. Our use of Google user data complies with Google's Limited Use requirements.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Railway's infrastructure in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymized usage data may be retained longer for analytics purposes.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to: (a) access the personal data we hold about you; (b) correct inaccurate data; (c) delete your account and associated data; (d) disconnect Gmail at any time; (e) export your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at

8. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
